City crews will be conducting the annual compost and leaf pickup throughout the city. This will take place from Monday, October 20, 2025, to Monday, October 27, 2025.
Those residents who wish to participate in the program, should place their leaves and compost material into transparent or paper bags. During the residents’ "no parking" days, we ask that the bags be placed in front of their property, next to the sidewalk. City staff will pick up the bags on the designated no parking day.
Bags that contain tree branches or other non-compostable waste will not be picked up and will be left for the residents to properly dispose of. Those residents who use Halloween garbage bags as decorations during Halloween, will be required to dispose of the bags properly.
Since this program requires all Operation staff and the majority of Parks staff to complete, after October 27, 2025, City staff will not pick up compost/leaf bags as they will be conducting other duties to prepare the city for winter. At that time, it will be the responsibility of the property owner/resident to dispose of their own compost/leaf bags. Disposal of compost and leaf bags at the Waste Management Facility is free all year.
